I saved just about every vid I watched in those days. It's harder now because so many are streaming on sites that are very difficult to download from.

That's so true. I really wish I had saved some. I'm the most angry about losing my own. I only ever made one and I liked it. But such is the way of the internet.

I was so thankful to find OBFreak's vids still available.

I keep playing with wanting to make my own, but I don't even know where to begin any more.

I did a quick search for yours, but if I have it, it's either called something unexpected or filed in a place I didn't look. (One problem with my old vid folders is that they're all over the place because I tended to sort vids into various categories rather than by fandom.)

But yeah, the general tendency of things to vanish over time is just such a thing. I know a lot of my very old files are gone because my hard drive was so small in those days that I saved things onto CD a lot and then deleted them from the hard drive. (Technically I probably still have at least *most* of those CDs, but I wouldn't know where to begin to look to find something on them.)

I think vidding also used to be easier than it is now. We downloaded so much more back then, and now everything is streaming.
