It doesn't help that in many ways this is morally ambiguous. Twilight is the head of a state in a sense and she has sworn to protect her people. I think there are some adults who would agree with her choice and see it the way my daughter did. I obviously disagree and feel you can't sacrifice the safety of another nation to save your own.
To put it in SGA context, this would be like Elizabeth deciding to steal a ZPM from people who need it for their protection. Probably if Atlantis was under siege with little hope of getting free. I think Elizabeth is well educated with moral values that she simply won't make that choice. But there are many would disagree with her for it. In fact Twilight reminds me a lot of Elizabeth, which is why I found her actions so shocking.
