Third Trimester
Mar. 30th, 2010 12:37 pm It's looking like the third trimester will be my easiest trimester (*knocks on wood*). I've mostly adjusted to this staying at home and doing nothing thing. It hasn't been so bad.
I read The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. AMAZING BOOK!!!! I can't put my finger on what I love about it so much because much of the book is typical. I think it's the voice and the characters and the world. To give you some perspective, I usually take one month to read a 250 page book. If a book is good, I can take two weeks to read a 250 page book. When I truly truly love a book, there is not stopping me. Dumas' Musketeer Series took me one month total for all five books and since then nothing has compared. This book, however, is right on par with my Dumas record. I read all 720 pages in a matter of days, the majority of it in two days.
In short, if you want an excellent read, I highly recommend The Name of the Wind.
Other than reading, I've just been slacking. Some of my friends have come to visit and that's been really nice. The house is a mess and people have helped here or there. I'm finding it really hard to control the nesting urge, but my place is on the couch in true sloth fashion, so I let the dirt taunt me from afar and just keep reading.
My friend has done such an amazing job on the invitations to the shower. She won't let me see the finished product, but what i saw of the little pieces just looks so adorable. I've decided I'm going to spend my time creating my own birth announcements rather than just print out the typical set.
Surprisingly I haven't gotten any writing done. Hopefully that will change soon. Sometimes when the reading mood takes me, I just don't have the energy to write as well. I don't want to miss out on my opportunity though. I also would love access to my SGA DVDs so I could re-watch through the series.
I'm also updated Ginny's blog weekly. Something about being pregnant just makes me very girly for some reason.
