So each day just seems about getting through the minutes and finding ways to just enjoy what I can. So I've made lots of podfic and done some writing. It's nice to podfic. There's not pressure to come up with the ideas and make it awesome. I just read. If people like my reading then they like it. If not, I'm betting the author is going to be excited no matter what. And yes, sometimes I am the author because I find listening to my own stories relaxing.
I used to think no one would podfic my works if I didn't do it myself, but now I've got a good handful of fic with podfics made by others and that's made me extra happy. It's interesting and fun to read how differently people hear what's on the page from how I hear it in my own head. Each new reader adds their own flare and it makes the story that much more wonderful to hear.
I did record two McShep podfics this week (McShep light. Some cuddles in the first and the second is all pre-slash. They don't even get to the feelings admission, just a lot of pining!John). Sniffles by Mas_Pebbles_Sharp (short sickfic) and (Not an) Evil Robot Overlord by WonkyElk (hilarious! with Red Dwarf skutters!). I also wrote a story that I'm getting finished up for posting soon.
Description for (Not an) Evil Robot Overlord (HIGHLY recommend): John Sheppard had experienced quite a number of surreal moments in his life, most of which he’d simply accepted and ploughed right on through, with a shrug and a quip, saving his private internal freakout for later.
But his best friend getting arrested on charges of conspiring to overthrow Atlantis with an evil robot army, was one of those occasions when his attempts to control his shock and agitation ended up being about as effective as a T-Rex trying to hide behind a lamp post.
I'm also through 4 of the 5 part series by Tipper. Almost there!!!!
In Gen news: We've decided to have a genficathon again (other creations aloud so working on the name). Details should come out soon. I'm so excited to get more SGA gen stuff out there. Also, since the fandom seems to be slow not be creating over the last two months, it will be really nice to have more new posts.
