Stop Talking! Chapter 2
Nov. 22nd, 2023 08:50 pmI dropped chapter 2 today of Stop talking but apparently when I messed with the dates before so my beta could work with me on the best fitting tags a day early, it messed with publication dates. So chapter 2 didn’t update to todays date and remained hidden on AO3 as if posted yesterday.
Oh well. Live and learn I guess.
One thing I really miss about ffn, which is really rare for me to say because ffn has so many downsides, is that people tended to review after each chapter so I’d know if people were reading. In AO3 a lot of people only do kudos and they can only do that once, so if they don’t comment I have no way of knowing if people are still reading the story. I feel have no way to gauge how chapter 2 went over. I know other people get a lot of comments there, and I do get some, but I wish I had enough interaction that it gave the nudge to say “you’re doing great!” or “Yes, I am still here.”
That said, I am really proud of this story. I usually don’t do as well on long fics, but I think this one stayed strong from beginning to end. I hope others feel the same.

Chapter 2 description: Rodney imagines a sign over his head flashing the word ‘CONCERNS’ for everyone to see he is not okay. It doesn’t help that he keeps seeing Not-Heightmeyer waiting in the periphery.
