I think they seem a lot like my college students in the early seasons and by season 7 definitely mid twenties to late twenties. I love how they have grown/matured. I think it is an especially big difference for Rainbow Dash. So many shows like this they all just stay the same.
It is noticeable for Twilight as well. For me, as much as I love the movie soundtrack, I feel the movie portrayed a season 4 Twilight and not a season 7 Twilight.
