New Computer

 Yay, I have a new computer!  It's going to make posting on dreamwidth so much easier because it's hard on my phone and I don't like opening it on my work computer (for obvious reasons).

I am so thankful to mific  who moved my podfics to the audio archive right before the internet archive went down. It's still down and it's been weeks now. It's such a relief to already have them posted somewhere else.


I made a podfic of Guilty and cassiope25  made me an awesome cover for it.  I'm so proud of Guilty, you all. I feel like it is the story I wanted to write for so long, the one always trying to come out, and then finally, one day, it did. Fandom (which seems very low engagement lately) gave it a great response. It just really brightened my day. What's more, I'm really proud of the podfic itself and the overall voice I used.

In other news, I'm posting Among the Dead in my efforts to migrate my very old fanfics to AO3. This one is a creepy gen one that people liked, but parts of it always bothered me. I'm trying to edit just those parts and leave most of my old writing the same. I wasn't as strong a writer back then but that's okay. We're all growing. Not everything has to be fixed. Sometimes it's nice to look back and just see that's where I was. Moving it to AO3 at least ensures I'll still have it when I want to read it in another 20 years.

Tastes have definitely changed in those 20 years.  I'm not getting much engagement on this story, but that's okay as it's old anyway.  It's so interesting having Tipper (tippergreen ) andnottasha  and a few others (Kolyaaa!!!!) back and getting to read their action fics new and old. I really do prefer a good action fic for my sga and too many people don't read or write action any more.  

Anyway, this is so much easier for typing!  How are you all?

And yeah, I noticed the low engagement thing as well, across a couple of my fandoms. I wonder if US friends in particular are holding their breath in the lead up to Nov 5th and a bit too preoccupied to focus on usual fannish interactions?

Oh the elections is an interesting thought. Maybe? I feel like it's been a steady decline in sga since like March? But some of my stories are doing well?

Yes, this computer makes it so much easier! I am enjoying writing a lot and making podfic. I think fandom makes me happy. I love interacting with people and keeping going old friendships.
