Dropping in
Jan. 24th, 2026 08:00 am Hi everyone!! It's been....a while. I keeps seeing the snowflake challenge going around and I think I should join, but I guess I'm not really sure how it works. Do you have to sign up? Do you have to do every day? Obviously, I already missed most of it.
My life continues to get more and more difficult but there is some good mixed in with all the bad. It's made it hard to write, which is sad because writing is what keeps me happy. I did manage to write a story for the Secret Santa on my sga discord, though, so that's great. Only something went weird with the bot and it seems to have assigned multiple people the same person, lol. As an organizer, I know it was me assigned at first and I think I know how it got mixed up, but it's still hilarious.
Story is either gen or established McShep so I tagged it as both / and & to let both audiences know the story would work for them. Once again, humor. There's something about humor that works well for me when times are hard. I haven't written much in Deep Down Below because I'm right where I just killed off Teyla and Rodney and I'm supposed to write John's grief before he goes into the depths of hell to bring them back, but that doesn't sit right with me dealing with my dad getting hit by a car, the accident my mom had, bad news on other fronts, and stuff that's just...not the mindset to deal with that story right now. I could post it as written, but I've edited the entire tone of the story and made it so much better. I don't want to give up on it.
So my recent story that is gen or established McShep is:
Zero Days Since McKay's Last Injury
Rodney's minions try to save him from himself. 1500 words. Humor.

You don't have to do it every day or do every single challenge. People are participating and posting as they can.
There is no deadline so feel free to complete challenges when and how you see fit. This is a fun and lighthearted challenge with an open invitation to participate and very few rules!
Reading the posts are also a neat way to get to know a little bit about your DW neighbors. Hope to see you there :)
