I finally saw Psych The Movie.  It was...really weird?   I still don’t know what to think.  It felt awesome at times and other times like everyone involved was either high or drunk.   It reminded me of John Steinbeck’s The Pastures of Heaven where the book is mostly normal except for this odd middle where everything goes fantasy and weird and clearly the author has lost all touch of reality.  Then suddenly it is back to normal and doesn’t return to the insanity at all.  Although I am not sure this movie ever gets back to normal.

I finally bought the new Red Dwarf season but I have not watched it yet.  So far the new seasons have been lots of fun so I have high hopes for this one.  I do feel a little bit like the last episode of the last season was the perfect ending to the show but I won’t complain about new eps.

On the MLP front, my friends were wondering how it compares to Steven Universe in depth and darkness.  I think Steven Universe has to win on both counts but it has the freedom that it isn’t aimed at young children.  However, I think the show has a fair amount of depth even compared to many adult shows and it defnitely can be dark.  I wasn’t really sure how to respond   I said it was mostly light hearted with fun slice of life but also has action adventure, depth, and some dark sprinkled in at times.  I think, in all honesty, that is what makes it a good show.  I have noticed quite a lot of overlap between Steven Universe fans and MLP fans and I think it is because both shows have a good balance of fun and depth, action adventure and slice of life.

Finally, I am now 3 episodes in on Stranger Things.  So far, not really grabbing me but I am assured I should keep watching.
