Oathbringer
Nov. 17th, 2017 07:59 amI'm so excited! My absolute favorite, most awesome writer, Brandon Sanderson, just released his next book. This is the third book of his Stormlight Archive series and it came in today with 1234 pages of extremely small type. Have I mentioned how excited I am? I can't think of any book series since Harry Potter or The D'Artagnan Romances (Musketeer series by Dumas) that I've enjoyed so much or been as excited about.
Best reading day ever!!!!!!!
Oh, I guess I have to go to work.
But later, best reading day ever!!!!!!!
(Maybe I've been writing in Rainbow Dash's voice too much.)
If you have never read Brandon Sanderson, I strongly suggest you start. A good place to begin without a lot of commitment is The Emperor's Soul which is only about 90 pages and gives you a good idea of his writing style. He writes long series and short stories and always does it well. His most famous work is probably Mistborn which was the series that took off his career. Unlike other fantasy authors whose books all get stale after too many books or they don't finish, you can count on Sanderson to weave and finish a good tale. (He finished the Robert Jordan's series The Wheel of Time, but I wouldn't judge his writing style on that since he had to change his style to match Jordan's. I personally never finished The Wheel of Time series.)
