Do you mean Season 8 and other future stuff? Apart from the fact that there have been unfinished episodes leaked and that season 9 might be the end of MLP:FIM as we know it, I haven't seen anything. I pretty much only haunt Dreamwidth, Equestria Daily and DerpyNews. An unfinished episode without sound, voices or proper animation is not going to get me to go searching for it. 8^)
Five years or so, DHX went on a tear, their stock climbing dramatically in value, the business expanding, buying property and acquiring another Canadian animation house that was going under... kind of like Sears acquiring KMart. It could be that DHX has been putting the squeeze on its employees for shareholder gain. Annoy the geese and those golden eggs just might roll out of the nest every once in awhile.
The good news, I guess, is that if MLP:FIM finishes with Season 9, that'll unchain a bit of fanon. With so many people stirring the canon pot, I feel MLP:FIM has become a bit directionless. But we'll have enough fanon to read to keep us busy until we're old and grey (or greyer... or white... or bald?... OK, how about shriveled up like a prune).
I saw a few spoilers on the forums that weren’t properly hidden. I tend to go as spoiler free as possible!
I am glad mlp has such a strong fandom with comics etc to keep the series alive well after season 9. Even if it is clear I see the characters differently than much of fandom seems to. I have noticed when joining fandoms late that can be an issue because fandoms create their own canon about the characters without realizing it and soon that’s the main perspective that everyone holds. It develops over time so can be hard to see to someone recently entering. However, it is awesome there is so much out there!
Maybe it is better than it seems. I just noticed on some fics I really enjoyed and felt were very in character, there were comments that weren’t very nice and took the opposite view. I haven’t gotten any on my stories but I have seen some fairly harsh comments out there that seemed more fanon vs canon issues.
