Finally posting: Bottled Up Lightning

sgatazmyI finished writing my new story, Bottled Up Lightning, and have begun posting. It's a McShep fic where Rodney seems eternally stuck in the infirmary and John's have a mental breakdown due to bottling up his feelings for far too long. It's a different fic that has John not sure how to handle his panic attack since he's never had one before, and hence making some very bad decisions. And once he's made a few bad decisions, he just keeps making more and more because it's too hard to stop.
It's definitely McShep. No way to read this one as gen so sorry about that to my gen-only readers. There's one kiss at the end and that's as far as it goes, but the fic does center around John's love for Rodney and how he just can't deal with watching Rodney facing death's door time and time again.
I'm really proud of this one. I was scared people would not appreciate my version of John in this fic because he's not exactly making good choices and he is being a jerk as a result. However, three chapters in and I have 4x as many subscribers to the fic than any other of my AO3 fics and my user subscriptions are going up at a faster rate than I've seen before. So, for now at least, people seem into the fic. I also think the comment interaction has been stronger than I've seen on my AO3 fics before, reminding me more of the levels I'd get on ffn. So that's really nice! I'm so excited that others are enjoying this fic. I think it is hands down the best writing I have ever done.
Anyway, here's the details. I'm posting a chapter every 2-3 days. I think it's best to read this as posted, to let the end of the chapters sink in for a bit before moving to the next. I know not everyone likes doing that, but it would be my suggestion.
