Just finished with con!!! It was…..so poorly run but the staff tried and today was better than yesterday. I learned that RDA is too nice for his own good and needs to take better care of himself. That poor man just would not give up on getting through the way oversold autograph line.
There were several highlights.
Paul asking me to stay after all the meet and greeters left and then surprising me with recording a video for my kids telling them what an amazing mum I am…definitely was the height of the day. And then him asking me if they’d seen it yet at least two more times during the con (including at the big night panel in the main even center.)
Joe at the end of the second night signing an autograph for me when no one else was in line and then asking, “Is this for your kid that does the amazing art?”. When I said it was for the other one he said my other daughter needed one and made her one as well, signing it with how how much he loved her art.
The meet and greets were fantastic! David Nykl and Pauls were smaller and so much more of a full experience as a result but I also loved David Hewlett and Joe Flanigan’s.
Realizing I was talking to Salchat in line was great. Meeting so many fandom friends and favorite writers! Getting a few meals with Leesa was great.
So, yeah, con was run horribly Saturday. A little better Sunday. But it was a great experience anyway and I really love my fandom family.

Date: 2024-05-13 08:46 pm (UTC)I enjoyed most of it, but gave up on Sunday as it was just too hot for me (I'm a wimp in the heat). But hey, typical British weather! When I want not too hot but also not wet, I get a mini-heatwave instead! Ah well, at least I got to the SGA panels on the Saturday, those were great (despite someone asking Jason if he was single...honestly, talk about being cringey!) - and I got to meet you and Cass too! All good! :D
