The Things We Forget

Apparently I used to write original fiction and poetry. I don't remember doing that much, but I was searching my email for something and saw some comments on my poetry. Then I realized I'd tried to admin a group for original writing that had sholio, tipper, nottasha, and other fantastic writers in it. What really spooks me is that I barely remember this at all? Like, seriously, why is my memory so bad???
So I went back and read some of my old poems and stories and now I really want to write more original works. I have a few more memories of the community and now I wish I had the opportunity to have such a community again. I'd love a chance to have monthly prompts to write a poem or a scene, anything to just have an excuse to write something original. It feels like a small prompt a month would be a manageable way to write original work, especially if I knew I had people who might read it and it was posted in a private group.
I'm really tempted to see if I can start a similar community again.

Date: 2024-03-17 06:26 pm (UTC)My problem is that I'm very much not into romantic relationships (whether M/F, F/F, M/M or any other combination), and that can be a problem in certain groups, as people make assumptions that aren't true. Especially if I make an exception (possibly an author I particularly like, or the romance is very low key), and then get panned for not reading everything in that genre. So I say yes, but it would depend on the people in the group I guess. I've been burned before, so it makes me cautious now.
