fic I want to read

 In the song Time To Be Awesome, Rainbow Dash sings:

I know this world can get you down
Things don’t work out the way that you thought
Feeling like your best days are done
Your fears and doubts are all you’ve got




Question:   When has Rainbow Dash ever felt this way? It seems like a  good story hidden in these lines.  I know fanfic loves to make Rainbow suffer enough already, but I still want to read stories based on this prompt.  And I want it to actually have Rainbow in character as so many of these types of fics seem to lose sight of her personality.

Did you buy the CD? I listen to it most days at work, on weekends or after my co-workers have gone home. ^_^

Rainbow Dash felt this way during the Young Fliers competition and when the Mysterious Mare Do Well was stealing her thunder.

I think she also felt that way with Tank hibernating and with the Wonderbolts threatening to kick her out when she was framed. I still found the words interesting for her to sing.

We have amazon music so we listen to all the cds all the time. I really do love the movie soundtrack! I can listen to it all day! My daughter is driving me nuts changing the lyrics from”open up your eyes” to “Would you like some fries?”

So I have not seen the episode with the young fliers competition.... I am guessing I really should.

Sonic Rainboom, Season 1 Episode 16. It's one of the episodes you'd show to people to demonstrate that MLP:FIM has good storytelling and personality. ^_^

I think my kids watched that last year when I wasn't really watching yet. We've seen it in the list of episodes but they never want to watch that episode. For some reason they really didn't like it. I may have to watch it on my own.

My whole MLP universe is so confused in my head because I've seen so many episodes out of order and all over the place. It's confusing! I need to find a site with a set timeline of events to make it all clear.

Okay, that was a great episode. Is it me or do they all seem a lot younger in season 1? Rainbow Dash seemed more late teens or early twenties (human equivalent ages) while in later seasons she seems mid twenties.

I find that the ponies have matured over the course of the seasons. The age debate was a frequent topic of discussion for at least the first four seasons. Generally, people were unsure because of the same cues you are picking up. 8^) Since they all seem to be independent and (gainfully) employed, I'd place them all at the equivalent of being around mid twenty.

I think they seem a lot like my college students in the early seasons and by season 7 definitely mid twenties to late twenties. I love how they have grown/matured. I think it is an especially big difference for Rainbow Dash. So many shows like this they all just stay the same.

It is noticeable for Twilight as well. For me, as much as I love the movie soundtrack, I feel the movie portrayed a season 4 Twilight and not a season 7 Twilight.
